Hi there
Well yesterday I took the risk of replacing the factory battery with a Cameron Sino 2200 mHa battery (ipod model) by myself. I just followed the instructions posted in this forum but I found a problem. I was not able to remove the little white tip or plug from the socket. Probably I was to scared to broke something. Since I had to remove and swap the cables from the new battery, I ended up leaving the factory plug removing the cables from the old battery and inserting the cables of the new battery with the proper polarity. So far so good, I'm using Rockbox and set the battery capacity to 2200. Left the DAP charging overnight and this morning I "shuffled playlisted" all the tracks in the DAP, with crossfade and repeated shuffled mode activated, plugged my Shure E4 in the headphone jack, set the volume to 40, set the benchbattery test and start playing the tracks. So lets see what happens! I hope to find a working DAP when I arrive home at the evening. Believe me, if something goes wrong I'm going to |

The socket (molex) does come out but its very tight, i used tweezers.
Let us know how it goes, interesting and much easier way (if it works) of replacement

Never thought about doing it this way. It should work fine. Would be a good alternative if you are scared of removing the molex, or if it wont come out (mine always came out OK). The only problem I can possibly see with doing it this way is that more strain could be put on the battery wires (and connections) when getting the player and wires into position.
Let us know how the test goes edil.

Oh oh I think that the battery ballooned because I found the DAP floating and touching the roof....
I'm joking Ok got the results and the battery last for 16 hours. Not exactly what I expected but not bad either. I was expecting like 20 hours or something. I forgot to mention that 2165 out of 2255 files are either 320 kbits CBR or Alt Preset Extreme VBR MP3s. The other 90 files are 32 kbit 1 hour podcasts. Also I forgot to deactivate the Optical port so the red led was active during the test. It seems that with different headphones you get different results because the battery last a little bit longer when using the Senn PX-200 instead of the Shure E4. Something weird is that the DAP keep working for about 20 minutes even when the battery indicator was at 0%. Well there you got it so far so good. Now you know that you can leave the factory molex connector and just swap the cables. ![]() |

*edit* Rewiring the molex on the main board seems ok for the h100's but for the h300's seems a little tricky. The molex on the h140 is easy to get to but on the 300's it would be more difficult.
