I see no seller named "Licketyspit" at ebay selling these batteries, or similar name suggested by ebay. Is that a typo? TIA.

I just ordered that. It looks to be a Cameron Sino 2200 mah iPod battery, so I'll have to reverse the polarity for it to work in my iHP-120. Today it was $9.99, $14.48 USD shipped to CA.

Edit:
It turned out that my battery had in fact not died. I'd just made a bad solder joint when attempting to reattach a wire from the battery. Having determined that I just sent the eBay seller an email asking to cancel if possible.

Edit2: The seller emailed me back quickly, indicating I'd been credited back my Paypal payment. That's very cool. It's licketysplitauctions at ebay.

I have just replaced my H340's battery with a Cameron Sino purchased for 15 UKP delivered from Hong Kong to the UK - even came with a little plastic paddle to help separate the case - can't comment on the longevity yet as it is getting it's first charge, but at least the box boots up

Link is http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=320079751752

Thought it was cheap enough to try it

Cheers

Correction, that should have been 15 _dollars_ not sterling which makes it ever cheaper...

i just made a post about this, i guess i should probably delete it, but do you think this is a good battery to buy?

http://cgi.ebay.com/Cameron-Sino-iRi...QQcmdZViewItem

or

http://cgi.ebay.com/Battery-Fits-iRi...QQcmdZViewItem

I am trying to avoid having to switch the polarity, do you think i will still have to on this battery?

Thanks!

Those are the exact same batteries and do not require a change in polarity. Again, it also the same battery that is supplied by Licketysplitauctions that were previous mentioned i.e.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...6506&rd=1&rd=1

If you go for this versus the 1st/2nd gen iPod battery, it will basically boil down to price and terms offered by the seller (i.e. warranty etc..).

Hi there fellow iriver-users,
this is my first time posting here, please go easy on me

Recently I also found my iriver H320 just shutting off after 30 minutes when fully charged. when I just wait a few hours it will give me another few minutes of playback, so it just broke on me.

I read a lot of the posts on the "problems" regarding battery replacement, and I found a Dutch website that sells batteries, and I just need some feedback whether I am going to make a good choice ordering this battery.

This is the URL:
http://www.accu-shop.nl/pda/ipod/ipod1.html
(if it does not work for any of you please tell me!)

As I guess not much of you can read Dutch, I shall translate it using my own translating skills

this is what it says:

Battery for iPod 1st generation 2200

Replacing (not original) Li-Polymer battery/rechargeable battery with extra high capacity of 2200 mAh.
Thanks to the very latest lithium-polyumer technology, the maximum capacity is kept, even when the battery is recharged when not fully discharged.
(some stuff about product ID, how many you want to order, etc)

To be used for:
iPod 1st generation, completely compatible with Apple battery: UP325385A4H
The battery is delivered together with a tool to open your iPod.
Take note: opening your iPod is at your own risk.
This battery is about 1mm thicker than the original battery, so use extra caution placing this battery.

There, these were my translating skills.
I don't see anywhere that this is a cameron sino brand, but I am a very unsure person by nature, and I just need you guys to tell me:
should I order this one? (it is "only" 22,50 euros).
I have read Denny's guide to replacement, and as soon as I will get home (@vacation now, but will check replies every now and then) I will start on ordering, and trying and replacing. I do need to switch the polarity on this one, right?

many, many thanks in advance

Greetings
ShadowSword88

I bought my battery from an eBay seller here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/iRiver-H110-H1..._W0QQitemZ1501. Cost me a bit under £16 including postage. It's a good quality, higher capacity (2200mAH) Cameron Sino battery made specifically for the iRiver H120, H140, H320 and H340 so no modifications were necessary to either the molex connector or the case. Took about 10 minutes to fit and works a treat!

As this battery isn't up for sale any more, do you happen to know where I can get it at? I wouldn't know how to switch the molex would be my biggest reason for going with this type of battery. Have you had success with it so far?

Update: I seem to find an Australian seller (as well as a New York-based seller with one battery & free shipping) selling a bunch of these CameronSino - Model # CS-H110XL - Part # PMPIRH1 DA2WB18D2, 2200-mAh batteries that are made in Hong Kong. Are these recommended & don't require the molex switching?

Yes I've had great success with my new battery so far. My old one used to give me about 8 hours of normal use, before the capacity dropped off dramatically causing me to have to replace it. It's early days but this new one is so far giving me nearly 14 hours of use, and I'm hoping to perhaps get a bit more out of it once I've completed a few more recharging cycles.

The battery you mentioned is the exact same one I bought - the H110 bit means it's designed specifically for iRiver H100 and 300 series players - so the molex plug will not need modifying and the battery itself will be exactly the same size and thickness as your current battery. It'll be a straight swap.

@larsie
I have ordered that battery twice the past 2 years and now i am going to look for a different one. It doesn't have a long life (at least not for me and my IHP100) It ran 25hrs at first, but within 7months it was just 6-8hrs. Very crappy. The first one also swell and almost cracked my lcd display.

I have learned in this thread that http://cgi.ebay.nl/Replacement-for-i...ayphotohosting are good batteries, so i am going to try one.

Ok, Thanks.
I guess I'll just wait untill the stock battery won't meet my expectations anymore. My H320 currently gets around 10 hours of uptime on average running rockbox, I have an uptime record of over 17 hours (which was just 3 weeks ago)!

I guess I'm just very lucky, but the 24 hours or more uptime of a 2200mAh battery is very attractive too

Question

First thank you to everybody i read all the pages learned lots of thing but because of the deleted links my head looks like a wastebasket :P

i bought my H340(us) in 2004 and i bought AA battery adapter and imp550 remote with it. Only one time i dropped it. And never need to use the reset button.(Now it uses 1.31k). It looks like unbeliavable but i use my iriver more than 10 hours per day and the inner battery is still the first and the original battery. Nearly 6 months ago i started to use the external battery too(for long playtime) With External Battery Pack my iriver was big and heavy but it wasn't a problem for me. But 2 months ago the inner battery come close to over and the AA battery adapter started to don't help me. I think that it's the best time for buying battery but i have some questions:

To Saint or Denny or whoever knows something about my questions:

I found some cameron sino batteries on ebay but from the last post(i guess) they started to sell H340 batteries too that no wire modification needs(isn't it ).

http://cgi.ebay.com/Replacement-for-...QQcmdZViewItem

in other hand still apple 1st/2nd gen batteries in there:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Replacement-for-...QQcmdZViewItem

- is there any difference between this two product? or just a 7$ for the wire changing?

- When i'm replacing my battery; do i have to take out the blue padding or the battery size is suitable for H340?(for ipod 1st/2nd gen battery and iriver battery [if you know])

- in somewhere(4 hours past and i'm still reading topics =) ) one of the user said that: the cameron sine battery which is came from hong kong caused problem in his/her player. Is it possible or it's probably about the user/player?

- Finally you recommended the dealer "licketysplitauction s" on ebay aren't you? I want to be sure.(or Is there anyone who make shopping from him/her.)

I can share one of my experience. During 3 years i always used the plug i didn't prefer to use the USB and i think that generally it affects positive the players working times.

Anyway thanks arigato danke schön

Nope, the battery will fit in without modifications

Every manufacturer produces defective products from time to time. He could've just been very unlucky, warranty is there for a reason

Actually, in theory it doesn't, the slower you charge your battery the less it will wear out. In real life however, the effects are probably not noticable

A quick note on Chinese batteries, and stuff in general.
The Chinese can make some top notch gear, like my H320 which says made in china. It all depends on the Quality Control of the individual manufacturer. Cheap stuff from china is usually the result of slack / non-existent copyright laws meaning someone working for a reputable manufacturer steals their designs and gives them to his mate to make cheaper elsewhere. The cheap versions are essentially the same but just have much lower QC and are made from lower grade materials. So, that's why it pays to buy name brand batteries not cheap generic ones.

If you look around in the forums in the H10 section somewhere you should find a disassembly guide, which includes a section on how to replace the battery. I recommend a Cameron Sino 1700 mAh battery for replacement, it's already a tad snug compared to the stock battery, and I doubt the 2200 mAh iPod batteries would fit at all with the cover being replaceable as there isn't any air space to fit a thicker battery in there than the stock battery.
