Make your own Docking Station!

I have just posted some images of my docking stations in the gallery. Some of this message has also been posted in the "international iriver forum" but I also thought that you could use some inspiration to make your own docking station. The numberous advantages of having such a docking station is:

- You can see the display of your player from greater distance because it is up-standing
- It is easier to operate because you don't have to pick it up
- It won't get as easily scratched since it isn't placed on the table
- It looks great! ... at least if you design it probably

Wood Docking Station: (my primary dock)

Nokia Docking Station: (my secondary dock)

I know they are nothing fancy, but there is actually no need to make it more complicated than this. They serve the simple task of holding my H140, so I don't have to pick it up everytime I need to operate it and of course they can be connected to the DC/AC adapter for charging/powering in the meanwhile. In the wood version, the USB cable can easily be connected - this is not possible using the Nokia version. My favorite is the wood dock, the Nokia version is just a quick dock station I made because I was using made H140 two places. Since iRiver don't sell Docking Stations for the H1xx-series, we'll just have to use our imagination.

So just do it... it is well worth the elbow grease '

Nice docking stations!

BTW, iRiver sorta suggested to me that if enough H1xx-series users email them asking about docking stations then they might just make one for them...

Then it will be interesting to see how the [POLL] turns out. If a large amount of people would rather buy a commercial docking station, then we could make a common email to iRiver instead of spamming with Docking Station requests. BTW, i think I forgot to include a "I already have a docking station" option (I came to think of that when I had to vote myself ). I suggest that lucky owners of a docking station, just select "I am already working on it!"

Good effort there Anderson - I'd like to see iRiver coming up with one for us, seeing as most 3rd party manufacturers seem to avoid anything other than the market leader.

I think I'll email iRiver to ask for a docking station, if it worked with the iSkin it could happen!

If I was more practical I'd think about creating one, but thats not happening. Although I have ingeniously used a file holder from the office to hold my H140 at a useful angle.
Does that count as making my own?!
