W10 vs. Clix2

I currently have an iriver clix (1st gen) and want a new mp3 player that plays video by 2008. I love the clix but I watch videos alot and the clixes small screen isn't ideal. So I was thinking about getting a clix2 or w10.

Clix2 Pros
  • Very small
    • I'm already used to using the clix and i love it

Clix2 Cons
  • Small screen

W10 Pros
  • Big screen
    • Built in speaker (no need to buy cradle)

W10 Cons
  • There isn't any news on when is coming out or all the features

I would really apreciate any help deciding or giving updates on the w10 to help me. Thank you in advance.

P.S. Price does not matter.

W10 is mainly designed to be use with your PC for streaming your PC content to it for playback.... in that sense, W10 isn't ideal for outdoor use since you won't be able to stream with out your PC (and WiFi) and the large screen makes it bulky. If you are planning to use it indoor, the large screen is really a big plus.

Actually, you might also want to pay attention to B20 (the portable TV) as well. Not much is know about how the TV function will work on different countries yet (but I know iriver build in many countries' DMB standard), but it has a slightly larger screen (2.4'') and a memory slot.

I would probably use the player in my house and in the car so size doesn't matter. I'm leaning toward the W10 but i still don't know when it's coming out and i want it soon.

the W10 will have expandable memory (which is making me lean more towards it)

The W10 will probably be much more expensive, and for some a cheap external speaker might be seen as a con.

The problem with this is the wait for any of these new players to become available.

There's not enough information on the W10 to make any sort of conclusion yet.

The biggest question is - We don't know when it is coming out yet.

We don't know the price, either.

We don't know other things like, how long the battery of the W10 would be for example, or the weight of it, how smooth it runs, etc. We don't know things like - what is the quality of the built in speakers? etc, etc.

I have other questions with the VOIP which may be my own ignorance. Like, what is the plan going to be like and all that.

I know it's iriver and it will be a quality product, but I wouldn't hold out for a w10 over the clix on this only - it could be a long wait and there's a chance that waiting could be in vain.

(i don't want to wait in vain...)

I'd just wait til we have a little more information before making a decison on whether to wait or not. That sentence may be the funniest thing I've written in forever.
