Making a brief detour into serious discussion. . .
I sent an email to the company asking about this, and received a reply on 5/8 stating that the release date had been pushed to late June. Hoping that doesn't slide. . . |

I've received a fairly firm timeline of very early July.

sigh.. this whole mystery about the 8gb clix is makin my head hurt. i've also read about some retailers claiming the 8gig clix is comin by mid-july -- BUT after i IMed iriveramerica personally, this is the eloquent response i recieved --
Hello, We have no information on a larger capacity iriver clix at this time. Please watch our web site for any future details. Best Regards, iriver America eStore http://www.iriveramerica.com/estore - maybe they think i'm some undercover agent for other dap brands and wanna keep in the dark, who knows at this pt but my patience is wearing thin.. (might end up becomin the owner of a d2 real soon instead..) |

Yep, that's what it says. But you didn't read the rest of the thread to find this link from Engadget: http://www.engadget.com/2007/07/10/i...gb-in-s-korea/
Note the last line. If you're wanting an absolute answer on date and time on exactly when it can be purchased in Denmark then honestly nobody has that answer. Sort of why the OP started this thread. Options in the meantime are to wait just a bit longer, or buy something else right now and then in the near future regret not being just a bit more patient. Even if you did buy something else right now you'd still have to wait for shipping time. If you truly want an 8GB Clix2 then a little bit longer shouldn't be too troublesome. You've waited this long already. |

the problem is... no one can really say for shure that it is only "a little bit longer" since there IS no official releasedate....
theoretically it could be months before we get the 8 gb in Europe.... The clix is expected in august, i know, but nothing is certain.... right? what im trying to say is...it would be really nice with official release dates for the clix and future products.... why wouldn't a company want to announce release dates?.. |

Jeff will have the 8gb when he gets back, on the 11th or 12th of August.
Some lucky people at clixhere expect there delivery from Warehouse123.com on Monday.

iRiver may be a bit dumb but they're not that stupid. That's just crap on behalf of Warehouse 123 to try and make it look like you're getting a good deal paying their rip-off prices. |

the Korean release was announces the 10th of july right?
A release date that is announced 1 day before the actual release is in my book no release date... i know i can't blame iRiver for the specultations of others, but when we are this close to a worldwide release (or so i hope) shouldn't it be possible to give an exact date?... |

Price points on newly released iriver products, when using US dollars, have always been one dollar off in increments of 50 or 100. For example, "$299"..."$149"...." $199", etc. Once a player has been out for a while, or a new model or larger capacity of an older model is released, then suggested prices are adjusted by one dollar off increments of 20. For example, a player that originally listed as $149 will then list at $119. Sometimes they adjust in increments of one dollar off 50, such as a $199 player will be brought down to $149. They have never had an increment of 35 so "$335" couldn't have been right. Not saying the above is true in every single case, but it is definitely iriver's pattern on suggested prices. Any deviation happens in older players that have been reduced, not the new releases. That sounds mored likely. Guessing it's $249 since that would follow their pattern. |

These are 'price points', for DAPs, for cameras, for everything. Well, if it's more than $249, it just won't be competitive. |
