We do not know when the 8gb Clix2 is coming out.

This question is being asked again and again and again, and people are starting new threads to do so, despite the fact there are already a large number of threads on the same subject.

We don't know when the 8GB Clix2/U20 is coming out. If we did, there might just be a small article on the site's front page saying so.
So, until something appears up there, please don't ask again - we don't know.

All we have are the same rumours you do (mid June, possibly the 15th - this is no longer valid, please see the bottom of the thread). There's no way we can be any more certain of the veracity of these rumours than you can.

edit: if it's not too presumptuous of me, would stickying this thread be a possibility?
Also, is it possible to list it in more than one section (ie the Clix section as well) or would that require a separate thread?

Making a brief detour into serious discussion. . .

I sent an email to the company asking about this, and received a reply on 5/8 stating that the release date had been pushed to late June. Hoping that doesn't slide. . .

I've received a fairly firm timeline of very early July.

Yep, that's what it says. But you didn't read the rest of the thread to find this link from Engadget: http://www.engadget.com/2007/07/10/i...gb-in-s-korea/

Note the last line.

If you're wanting an absolute answer on date and time on exactly when it can be purchased in Denmark then honestly nobody has that answer. Sort of why the OP started this thread. But word is the 8GB Clix2 will be available at Mistic River's iRiver store when Jeff gets back from holiday.

Options in the meantime are to wait just a bit longer, or buy something else right now and then in the near future regret not being just a bit more patient. Even if you did buy something else right now you'd still have to wait for shipping time. If you truly want an 8GB Clix2 then a little bit longer shouldn't be too troublesome. You've waited this long already.

the problem is... no one can really say for shure that it is only "a little bit longer" since there IS no official releasedate....

theoretically it could be months before we get the 8 gb in Europe.... The clix is expected in august, i know, but nothing is certain.... right?

what im trying to say is...it would be really nice with official release dates for the clix and future products.... why wouldn't a company want to announce release dates?..

Some lucky people at clixhere expect there delivery from Warehouse123.com on Monday.

The first time a release date came officially from iRiver was the announced July 11th release for Korea. All information prior to that was merely speculation on the part of review sites anticipating release. None quoted exactly where they got their information, which may or may not have been "official" sources. Clix2 8GB has been very highly anticipated since it was first announced as still being in development. The point is I don't think you can place blame on iRiver for the mere speculation of others.

Hope they post pictures and a decent review over there. Considering Warehouse 123 was selling it for over $300 without shipping, I'm guessing there will be people quite disappointed at the price point. MSRP is (according to Warehouse 123) $335 sans shipping. Quite a sum for a flash player.

There's no way that's the RRP.
iRiver may be a bit dumb but they're not that stupid.

That's just crap on behalf of Warehouse 123 to try and make it look like you're getting a good deal paying their rip-off prices.

the Korean release was announces the 10th of july right?

A release date that is announced 1 day before the actual release is in my book no release date...

i know i can't blame iRiver for the specultations of others, but when we are this close to a worldwide release (or so i hope) shouldn't it be possible to give an exact date?...

You will be able to buy it on the 11th or 12th of August, what's the problem?

That's a definite date because jeff has said he will have the 8GB Clix2 then.

Thought that might be the case, hence the qualifier "according to Warehouse 123". $335 didn't sound right for more than just that it's ridiculously expensive.

Price points on newly released iriver products, when using US dollars, have always been one dollar off in increments of 50 or 100. For example, "$299"..."$149"...." $199", etc.

Once a player has been out for a while, or a new model or larger capacity of an older model is released, then suggested prices are adjusted by one dollar off increments of 20. For example, a player that originally listed as $149 will then list at $119. Sometimes they adjust in increments of one dollar off 50, such as a $199 player will be brought down to $149. They have never had an increment of 35 so "$335" couldn't have been right.

Not saying the above is true in every single case, but it is definitely iriver's pattern on suggested prices. Any deviation happens in older players that have been reduced, not the new releases.

That sounds mored likely. Guessing it's $249 since that would follow their pattern.

The same holds true for a lot of manufacturers of a range of different products.
These are 'price points', for DAPs, for cameras, for everything.

Well, if it's more than $249, it just won't be competitive.
