An MP3 with DAB?
By DAB I mean Digital Audio Broadcast radio, which are becoming popular in the UK. Portable versions are beginning to appear also. What you get with DAB is crystal clear sound (no crackling or hissing) - when you can get reception - and also a huge number of stations. I think it is only a matter of time before some enterprising MP3 manufacturer bundles DAB with an MP3 player. It won't be cheap - the standalone portables sell for between £100 and £150 in the UK.
Surprisingly, when I was in the US in the summer, one of my American mates who is something of a radio ham didn't seem to know about DAB. perhaps I misunderstood him. Do they have it yet in the US? |

DAB is more widespread over UK than any other country, I believe. Thus, until you see it going more mainstream in other countries, I don't see a DAB DAP coming anytime soon.
And don't ask when that'll be :P
