This is again straight off the iRiver Nordic website. I will try and substantiate this info.

There have been some rumours on the net that the UMS Firmware for the new flashbased players will not be availible.

This is not true!

The UMS Firmware for iFP-700, iFP-800 and iFP-1000 series will be released in the middle of July.

I saw on iriver international that someone posted it will be out in the end of Aug with 7 new features on the IRM version, and the UMS is in Sept.

end of aug.

1. playback speed controller
2. iFP-1000 TEXT VIEWER
3. iFP-1000 BMP VIEWER(24Bit)
4. iFP-1000 JPEG Image View on playing mode
5. iFP-1000 multi-shot mode
6. iFP-700/00/1000 auto shut off after using programming timer to record radio.
7. better SHUFFLE
