Just got my ZVM.

I just got my ZVM via UPS today, and I love it.

But, I have a serious problem.

My player is fully charged, and when I plug it into the computer with the dongle and the usb cable, the docking screen doesn't come on and my computer doesn't recognize the player.

I would really really really appreciate it if you could help me.

Thanks

I have no clue as to how to fix your problem, but I just wanted to congratulate you on your purchase . Looks like a fine player to me.

Have you tried the Creative fan forums (similar, though not nearly as super-cooooool as MR, of course )? While there might be several Creative owners here more than happy to help, you might find the answer here: http://www.epizenter.net/news.php .

Hi. I have a ZVM aswell. Does the computer do anything t all ie. say it needs drivers?
If it says it needs drivers, what I did to fix that was chuck the CD into the computer, then when it asks to search for drivers, pick the CD. Worked for me, I hope it works for you

Nothing against creative, but their forums are pretty terrible. You'll have a better time at the forums at www.anythingbutipod.com

You do need to have WMP10 or 11 installed, or you should install creative media explorer from the disc. You also should have windows xp with service pack 2. Now if you ever get it connected, you should go to creative's site and grab the newest firmware. That way it just be opened in explorer for drag and drop.

Ok, just to give an update here, I tested it on my brothers computer, and it didn't work either. So, I'm shipping it out tomorrow for an RMA from newegg.com (The site where I bought it from), I figured the free replacement would be better than risk getting a refurbished player from Creative.

I must say though, I have no hard feeling against Creative. I still love the zvm, and everyone makes mistakes from time to time.

Buuuuuuut .. if I get ANOTHER defective player again, then the fists will start flying =D
