I think if anyone is going to consider one product vs another they have to do more research than believing what sites like cnet report.
Thats why forums like this and iaudiophile etc are the best avenues for research and no opinions are that biased, thats the beauty of misticriver, we are not all iriver fanboys just cause we post here.

Is there an option to enable only 1 press as oppose to 2 presses needed to open menus?

First press is select, second press is open. So no. Look at it this way: you have to select a folder or menu first and then you can either press arrow forward to enter the folder or press the folder again to enter the folder. This is so you can have options available: you press once to select, then you can perform options. If it was press once = open, you wouldn't be able to perform functions to a folder (like add it to a playlist).

Thanks for the explanation. I initially thought it was made that way so you don't accidently tap something.

Hey Jeff does that include the D2's A/V cable for viewing videos on the tv? I can't find a single site that will export to the UK from the US or Australia (amongst other places) etc.

Thanks for the offer, I'll think about it. Off the top of my head can't remember if the (Australian) website was out of stock though I only checked two days back or so along with the US website. But if Jeff can chip in with good news I would definitely be his first customer for one.

I'm between a rock and a hard place with Cowon accessories. I have the feeling that Cowon America will soon release such items as the AV Cable, Metal Skins, Crystal Cases, etc... but no contact with the company, thus no confirmation. In order to purchase these items in Korea I usually have to purchase more than just one because of shipping, etc... and the price is usually higher than it will be here in the U.S.

Let me do some investigating.

Jeff

Thanks Jeff, it's appreciated whatever happens or not. By the way is the A2 cable the same as the D2 one or are they both different?

EDIT:
Just found this reply to a post I made on AMP3 forums.
http://www.advancedmp3players.co.uk/...ST&f=14&t=7351

According to the last poster they are apparently getting them in later in the week. But I'll believe it when I see it, don't want to raise my hopes unnecessarily.

Well I dug up some sites for the AV cables but no idea if they send overseas. Maybe some of you guys know of them or have used them before?
Austrian (I think) website - no idea what or where to click on
http://shop.viennaweb.at/index.php?m...=shopping_cart
New Zealand - nothing I've read excludes sending overseas but they don't seem to mention it either unless I missed it.

Might have to take you up on that offer Saints. I'll give it another week maybe. Check this out, I sure hope that it is possible to play larger than 320x240 video files in future:

Hi there Do you guys know where can i buy Cowon D2 2Gb? I have searched ebay.co.uk but no success, only one seller selling D2 4GB. I need the item to be shipped to Lithuania, my small country near Latvia, Estia, Poland.

I'm trying to do research on this and the clix 2 before I figure out which one to buy. Cnet is being annoying as all hell about testing the battery time. Usually, cnet's battery tests synch up fairly well to how it actually functions (at least at first) so I would use it - but I can't find anyone who's tested it with video. I'm certainly not taking cowon's word for it.

I've read reports from people who say the cowon will last 6 hours with video tops - even at the lowest bright level. And I think the clix2 is offering around 5, and if that is the case, I'd be happy witht he clix.

the screen - I saw a comparison video of the two screens together and it's no contest - the clix2 blows the d2 out of the park. The screens are both beautiful, but with cowon you need to get the angle just right, which is annoying.

The only thing, besides battery life, that I don't like about the clix 2 is the cradle.

I love the navigation of the clix. I don't think I would like a touch screen. Yet, for long flights I can't help thinking that battery life should win out over these other issues. It's a tossup for now.

Yeah, it's not. Did you see it? They completely misunderstood iriver on about 5 different levels. Watch what they say about the clix. the girl makes a fool out of herself.

Uhhh, I don't remember paying for iriverter. And iriverter is mentioned like, right in the directions. It tells you exactly where to download it.
