The seller using this name was scamming me. I sent PayPal payment, but item was never sent. It had been listed at http://www.misticriver.net/archive/i...p/t-33829.html (link no longer availalbe).

E-mail communication was very good before the sale, and he even sent another message after payment that he would get the item in shipping the next day, but item never arrived and he's never responded to E-mail again.

Buyer beware.

mdhmdh31, I am sorry to hear of your difficulties with this seller. That link is no longer listed because the seller had posted the same item under different user names, which we found suspicious. Normally if I remove a listing, I will send a PM warning anyone who has expressed interest in an item, but I obviously couldn't do so in this case because there was no indication in the thread that you had been in contact with the seller. This is why we recommend having at least some communication about a "for sale" item in the "for sale" thread rather than by private communication, even if it is just a short "You've got PM."

As Febs said. I try to do the same and is the main reason why we state in the rules of that section to post on thread all the things that you can before taking it to PM, this ensures that we can make you aware that the seller is dodgy, we can see what is happening on our site and there is some level of transparancy for other users so we dont get the typical "I have already gotten an offer by PM" crap.

Sorry about your loss but to be honest it is not our fault that you did not read the rules and regs where it clearly states.

Best of luck getting the money back via paypal. Just get the financial onbudsman on them or whatever you have in your country.

mdhmdh31,

Read this thread on head-fi.org: http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=156570

rcardillo had a second Mistic River account with the username ss2k2, so this appears to be the same person. He has allegedly issued refunds. It might be worth your while to get in contact with the people there who dealt with him and find out what actions they took.

Edit: Here is another head-fi thread with more information: http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=156442
