USBOTG.. what is going on?
Hi..

deh.. I know this is discussed every 3 minutes.. just reasurance.. This is not only about the PMP though..

What is with USBOTG and the 3## series.. does it work? Why is their that guide to USBOTG hacking..??

I bought the PMP for one of many reasons but mostly to use the USBOTG funtion.. so basicly does it work yet? or do you need firmware..

Also does the card ready or camera have to be driverless to work on the PMP. and can you play music and go though ur photoes at the same time.

The international version of the H3xx ie. bacically any version but US comes with USBOTG working and enabled. For reasons of their own iRiver did not implement USBOTG on the US models but as it still has 2 USB ports people have been able to get USBOTG to work by flashing to 1.25k firmware and doing some mods.

The camera card reader must support UMS basically be plug and play in windows. The PMP FW 2.03 is ishy witrh big files so its not totally supported. The USBOTG hacking guide is to get USBOTG working on US players.

Ok.. I see. Ummm what was a UMS card reader .. Is that just a driverless card reader? So I look for a car reader that doesnt come with a cd?

And.. if it doesnt need drivers for win-xp does that mean that it will work?

confusing stuff.

99% chance a card reader thats "driverless" will work. No guarantee because the player can be fussy.

Because they got in to bed with Micro$oft, to get the "Playsforsure" logo on the US model. Hence the media label and the DRM infection.
