I like it's design of the PMC, but Microsoft's involvement means no codec support and no abundance of iRiver features.

Yes, just saw it.
My thoughts were that the PMC is kind of like the PMP with a mix of Creative's PMC. It has the edges of Creative but the curves of the PMP... and I hope it'll have the battery life of a Creative and the coolness of the PMP... |

Its absolutly hideous. I hate the design, its windows so as has been said it will support nothing, its like an iPod really, only mp3 and aac.
The OS will probably crash like something stupid, as has been said BSOD all the time, and of course the famous "bill gates needs more money please make a check for $250 payable to the microsoft corporation to contine playing your music" this will of course happen either every 25minutes or each time the you turn it on to play tracks, whichever comes last as microsoft dont want to annoy you too much. PMP forever the freedom of the linux OS is so liberating and the prospect of more codec support is a great chance, the PMC is more expensive, it runs microsoft software, and it IMHO looks crap. |

I have always considered lack of DRM support a positive thing! The M$ arrangement I'm sure is just going to push M$'s planned online music store. Honestly, if I'm going to buy a DRM-limited player, it's going to be the most popular (i.e. iP*d), because at least then they are more hacks for it. |

Bah.. who do u think the target market is...
v'rich 10-12yo's who don't know a thing about video playback.. and buy and $800+AUD multimedia player and use it as a mp3 player (till they get bored). or 40+yo's who walk through the airport and buy one in the spur of the moment because its "cool" although they dnt know what it does A blind theif with no hands. Oh.. and microsoft freaks..
