Etymotic Er6i Vs Shure E3c

I'm not sure if anyon has started such a thread but I've been seriously thinking about getting some quality earphones for my PMP.I've checked out numerous reviews and it seems like Etymotic has the upper hand.Anyone own these pairs who can advise me on the better of the two.I currently use Sony's EX71 and there're pretty decent but the Etymotics and Shure seem to be well ahead of the competition.

Used the Sony Ex71 before switching to Shure E3c. The E3c is way above in comparison with the Ex71 and you'll never turn back.
On the Ety6, never had a chance to use it.

Talking

Hi,

I was using sony ex71....

Got ER6i......

listened to them .....

they are good....

sony is good too but it has some 'limits'

i mean i heard sounds on er6I that i never heard before on sony

still i dont think the price is justified

anyway i have spent money on it ....so i will treat them as assets....

people complain that they lack bass....

maybe its true for ipod owners

iriver owners can relax as they give enough bass

looks like they are made for iriver rather than for ipod!

by the way they come in white, so I painted them black!

If you plan to listen to your headphones out side where ambient noise plays a factor in you hearing your music and want something with a simple and discreet desgin I would get the shure e3c. The er4's are hollowed out and sterile souding, but have amazing detail. I love the shures very musical sounding and disappear on your ears once you get used to the seal and design.
