PMP 140 Music - Visual Lyrics
Has anyone been able to get the Lyrics to display during playing MP3 which have been incoded with ALC? I would be interested in using this but haven't found the right utility yet to add it. I've tried Visual MP3 and it didn't display in the PMP.
Thanks Bill |

Actually, I would not recommend using the text viewer as lyrics (although it does work) because it's better to have it synced to the song and show up automatically when a song plays rather than looking for the lyrics in a folder while playing the song.
Like Astec123 has pointed out, try the iRiver caption editor (provided in iRiver website) or the iRiver LDB Manager (not a device manager but basically a more automated version of the iRiver caption editor that has a whole library of song lyrics that you can search from (has to be connected to internet). Lyrics are fun! |

I tried all that. Its hard to get the songs to sync to the music, easier to just read them like you would on the web using the text viewer.
How to Use Caption Editor Download the Caption Editor program to your hard drive. Open the Caption Editor program. Open the MP3 folder icon in the top left of the Caption Editor box. Choose an MP3 file and click “Open”. The song loads automatically into Caption Editor. Type or copy/paste the lyrics to the song in the “Text Editor Window” box. Check the “Auto Line Change” box. When done, put the blinking cursor to the left of the first word of the song and click inside the “Text Editor Window” box. Hit the Play button above the “Text View Window” box. The song will start playing. While the song is playing, the user has to click the “Insert Time Info” button before each line. This captures the time required between each line to display the song’s lyrics correctly on the iMP-350. Do this before each line throughout the duration of the song. To test your lyrics first in Caption Editor, you need to click the “Text Save” icon in the top left of the Caption Editor box. You can choose to rename the file or keep the same name, and the file will be saved as a *.snc file. When done saving text, hit the Play button above “Text View Window”. The song will start playing, and the lyrics will be displayed in the “Text View Window” box. When you are ready to use Lyrics Caption Editor on your iMP-350, click the “MP3 Save” icon in the top left of the Caption Editor box. Rename the mp3 file (since it is now an mp3 with text). Insert a blank disc in your CD writer system. Burn the renamed mp3 file to your disc. Insert the disc in the iMP-350 and hit Play. The song will start playing, and the lyrics will be displayed on the LCD. TOO MUCH BS! |
