please reply quickly - worried

ok so ive had my iriver for about 1 week/2 weeks now, i bought it off ebay as a manufactured refurbishment and its been great

but just now when i tried to plug it in to my pc and the power outlet it wouldnt turn on, when i put the power cable in i must have not done it right as it wouldnt fit properly so i took it out and put it back in,
now usually theres a green light thats on signifying that its charging, but for some reason its flashing and the iriver wont turn on still, after inspecting further i realised that i can smell burning plastic/soldering coming from within the iriver so unhesitantly took the battery out,

its now sitting on my desk looking rather unhappy and im bloody scared : /

if anyone knows wehat the problem could be/how to solve it my gratitude will be immeasurable.

You might need to setup an RMA. If you fried a circuit on the board of your pmp then there isn't much you can do.

Refurbished goods usually come with a 3 month warrenty period. Just get a new one, I can't see how you would have fried the circuits. Unless you did something stupid with it. Which is unlikely in the first 2 weeks.

My iriver worked fine while it was functional, then after I started using it as a portable hdd (expensive portable hdd eh lol). The thing can only be turned on if I have the power cable plugged in (ie the battery doesnt hold). Thats why i get the flickering yellow light if i try to turn on the player with only the USB connected (need both power and usb).

Just return it, and get a fresh one .
