Advice On Movie Conversion Would Help.

Just asking for a little advice on what the BEST settings are for optimum movie playback, such as res, audio bitrate, framerate etc. I have used iReverter but I am still not happy with the end result, I am of course new to this so be gentle with me!

If you could tell me what the settings need to be on iReverter I will give it a go, I have read the FAQ's but they don't really explain on what settings are used for best quality and audio playback.

If by best quality you mean the absolute best quality the player will play, then:

1500kbps video bitrate
640x480 res
192kbps audio bitrate
30 frames per second (I didn't see an option for that on iriverter though)

You will only need the quality this high if your going to plug your iriver into a TV and play it, or you plan on transferring the file something else and watching it on that. Even the I would only set the quaility like this (and I wouldn't use iriverter):
~700kbps video (alot of ripping programs allow to set a disired filesize, then calculate these setting for you)
648x480
80kbps audio(128kbps is it's a music video or something... or ~300kbps in AC3 if I want 5.1 surround)
30 fps

If your gonna watch the video solely on your iriver, you can save some space, and cut down the quality, without noticing the difference. These are the setting I use if I'm only going to watch it on my player:

500kbps video bitrate
320x480 res (same res as the screen)
80kbps audio bitrate (or 128 if it's a music video)
24 frames per second (If that's an option)

Note that at 1500kbps video bitrate may (depending on the video) be too much for the PMP. For 640x480 I'd use a max of 1300kbps. Even on a TV you might not be able to tell the difference between 320x240 and 640x480 sometimes.
