iReverter has stopped converting

Hello all,
I've successfully used ireverter to convert approximately 10 DVD's to .avi files, but for some reason it has decided to stop working. I was having problems with my MANY DVD playing softwares (intervideo, winvideo 7, etc), and I had to uninstall them about two weeks ago. Yesterday I tried to convert some DVD's, and ireverter gathers information about them, and then it SAYS it will convert them, but it gets stuck at the window saying, "converting"--never does.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Matt in Bolivia

It works

It was a bitrate issue--working fine now. Yet, has anyone ever had this problem: iriverter doesn't recognize any tracks as having information on the DVD so there's nothing to convert?
As in, it gives a list of chapters but they all read 00.00.00?
What have you done to get beyond this?
Thanks.,
Matt

This is just an educated guess, but that sounds like what I would expect to happen if there wasn't a DVD decoder (software or hardware) installed. (Most DVD players that come with a DVD drive would install a software decoder which, I believe, can then be used by other DVD players.) Given it's use of mplayer/mencoder, I don't know if iRiverter would use a software decoder like that though. Mencoder might do the decoding itself.
