Exclamation HELP: Cannot Install PMC-120 MTP Device Driver on Windows 2003

Hi,
I am using Windows 2003 server with latest service packs installed on my PC. I installed Windows Media Player(WMP) 10 and MTP9x-2k.exe and somehow, I managed to install the driver for Iriver PMC-120 on Windows 2003 succesfully.

Yesterday, I installed WMP 11 Beta on Windows 2003 successfully..it works fine..(indeed, Microsoft says that only XP is supported; with a little trick you can install it on Win2003).But after the installation, the system started not recognizing PMC-120...

When I uninstalled the driver(from device manager..) and install it again, the install wizard gives an error "A service installation section in this INF is invalid" and cannot install the driver..

I need updated wpdmtp.inf with correct VID_xxxx&PID_yyyy settings for PMC-120.. I would appreciate very much if anyone could provide me that file or offer a solution to solve this problem?

I think it should not be so difficult to make PMC-120 work on Widows 2003..Iriver had better provide a setup to overcome these difficulties in my opinion.

Angry

Hi, I have not logged in to this forum for a long time. Because I see that I cann not find a solution to my problems on this forum and I think IRIVER does not give support to its consumers as much as Creative or IPOD does.(they haven't even submitted a firmware for PMC-100 series for 2 years for these fucking silly problems..that shows how much they care for their customers )

As for the problem,I have uninstalled all the MTP tools I have installed(the drivers, MTP9x-2k etx.)..Then I found WMP11 setup. and extraxt it to a folder.. There exist 2 or 3 different executables. Initially, I have run the main executable update(to run it on Win2003..needs some tricks..using batch file etc.)..But this does not solve the problem.. You can just use WMP11 on windows 2003 server..

Then, if you install(the update folders) the other packages and restart computer, i will be ok..Plug your device, let the system find the right driver and complete the installation..

But when you format PMC on Win XP(I use XP at work, win2003 at home) and try to use it on Windows 2003, you may face with disturbing problems..files will be readonly for the OS that you originally did not use to format the device(in my case it is Win2003)....After these fucking problems, I do not recommend anyone to buy IRIVER products as they do no give support to users.
