Pmp Info
Hey guys i love thr job that everyone has been doing on this wonderful site and i myself have purchased a PMP-120 and it is arriving in 2 days. I would just like some basic info on upgrading the firmware, ogg support, and games.

Ok so first i would like to know if where i have been reading if this is the right instructions.

According to the PMP manual pmp100.tar is the file for the firmware upgrade.
Copy it to the root of the PMP harddisk - in other words follow the instructions in the manual.

So do i copy the pmp100.tar to the hardrive i think its size is 6.36mb and inside it if i unrar it with winrar there are 2 files which are iRiverSys.tar and allimg.hex .
If this is right could someone please say so.

Ok the next is the ogg support and games support and i am unsure due to the many topics if the ogg support does work. Does firmware version 2.04 include ogg support and does any firmware version have any 8 bit games that do work or if anyone has got any games to work on there i would love to know.

The PMP does not support OGG or games. You do not need to untar the archive for the upgrade to work.

Cheers for the quick reply shamrockman and i hope one day iriver will wake up and make a firmware including some of the stuff they actually said should come out with the iriver and i hope everything works out well for you guys and my iriver :P
