Solution for xferring photos from mem cards

I posted a query earlier regarding connecting a camera to a pmp140. I discovered that if your camera is incompatible you can connect up a USB card reader and copy the photos through the pmp's browser... pretty cool.

Do you need to upgrade the firmware to do this?

I have a PMP-120, and was thinking of using it for photo storage on a vacation. I have a 1G sd card for my canon S2is, and thought rather than carting my laptop around or buying some more larger cards, I could just use the PMP, and offload the photos to it.

That's what I'm currently doing. Went on holiday, ordered a 1 gb card for my canon but it didn't arrive in time. Had to make do with a 32mb card, just copied any photos I took to the PMP via a card reader.

Was really happy with it, so simple to do.
