iRiver PMC Spotted in Sopranos!
iRiver PMC1xx was on the sopranos 4/23/06... although it wasn't said to be an iriver or any brand, i knew what it was

it was show in its naked form, and a box was handed out and it was black witha red stripe (much like my h320 box except solid black with a thick red stripe)

also, they flashed a shot of two other models in their (retail) plastic containers... notsure what they were though

just tought it was interesting for it to be iRiver and not an ipod or a creative.

The girl who gave it to Ben Kingsley was introduced as "Shelly from iRiver" and she had the iRiver logo on her shirt. You'd think they would take advantage of product placement on a high profile show like the Sopranos and show one of the new models.

@ smafty - geez your avatar can blind a lot of people.

anywayz this is a pretty good marketing thing but normal people who watch it wont know thats an iriver pmc and wont care about it at all.

yeah. most tv shows can be downloaded for free (illegally) which i would't recommend (nudge nudge wink wink).

On the one hand I think it's really cool that iRiver is being promoted here. On the other hand, I really hate any form of additional advertising in television/ movies. I think it was a little over the top, myself.

At least in this case, rampant commercialism was part of the *point* of the scene.

I think the guy I got mine from was ielectricity(ebay), or somethig like that, really cool cat with fast shipping and perfect PMC. Went into town today with it mounted in my car, watching south park lol. Had a crowd of people soming by to watch, was pretty cool.
