Question Any experience with iRiver exchanges?

I was having some trouble with my PMP 120 player with shuffle and LCD screen not turning off well. So I contacted IRiver and they have issued an RMA. It also says "Allow up to three weeks for your RMA to be returned at the address below. Should you have further questions, feel free to contact us."

Do they exchange for a new/used or an refurbished device? Or do they try to fix the one I sent and re-send it? Does it really take 3 weeks? What's your overall satisfaction with the service?

Thanks

some people here have had very bad experiences with rma. one example would be one of out main members astec. he left because one of his reasons was they took ages to fix his pmp and it still didn't work!!

Astec didnt leave because of this, the subscribers are rewarded with a competition now and again and the prizes are new iriver products.
He feels he won the last comp and spat the dummy when he wasnt given the prize (long story) and has gone because of this.

Note it only costs US$12.00 per year to be a subscriber so its worth it in supporting the site and being eligable for competitions.

I had no problems with my RMA. They told me to ship it back w/ out any original accessories and the RMA # on the label. Their e-mail said to expect it to take 3 to 4 weeks to return. I got a new one back 4 days after I sent it. Brand new in box with all the accessories. And since I wasn't supposed to ship my accessories back I have two of everything. It worked out fine for me.

Yes .. this week. And I hope they dont attempt on fixing the one I currently have and resend that one as I also hear some scratchy HDD sounds.
