Friends, Romans, Countrymen, Find me a PVP
Hi all now Im leaving the iRiver PVP camp forever. So I say adieu to the PMP140 and say hello to £400 of cash from iRiver. I have had enough so Im demanding my money back, all it has been is problems since november and only today since november 5th have I had a player to use. Wow what fun that was. Anyway Im looking for a new PVP to replace it with. Have a normal 20gig dap and I want a 40+gig PVP for £400 or less. Im not going to go over that price so please dont ask me to. Make suggestions and lets see where astec goes next.

Astec, take a look at the Archos AV 500. It seems very appetizing: (At 100GB!)

Didn't realize about the UMS support, but I don't think the price is too high. That price in in Euros.

Yea I know but MH £400 is 581.233 EUR so the player your talking about is over €100 more than I am willing to spend. Even with a 100gb drive I still dont like it. To be honest I would like to have some change from 400.

I honestly think there is not that much out there, especially for UMS support. I don't even think the Vision's 30GB player has it.

Well, Neuros has the 442 but you should wait for the next generation of it to come out since it's near that time. And it's Open Source, cool things should come out on it. Not cheap though. There are iStations out there that look attractive. Good luck on your search.

Astec, did you find out what iRiver is going to do for your PMP?

I've always liked to archos pma400, a little out of my budget but it's doable with 400 pounds. I think wifi would greatly expand a portable players capabilities, and I bet in a year or two pvp's will start taking over a fair share of the laptop, pda market.
Even if you don't get the pma, wifi capabilities are the way to go, and I'm sure some other players also have it by now. |

Not sure about the price of this unit but if it had english firmware I'd be all over it. Currently its only in Korean but looks like a great player considering its opensource. |
