Lets keep this up there and people signing.

This petition is all very well and a great step in the right direction but if they are false advertising would legal action be a better road to go down?

Thanks all, your support for this is much appreciated. Please email the address to friends, family coworkers etc, use msn messenger etc, anything as this will be for the greater good, we get ignored while the Korean market gets plenty of attention, they may or may not want games but if we get this we could have a victory and a chance to work on problems of other players. So get people signing!

Games

I do agree that if something is advertised as a selling point such as games then I river should honour their word by at least attempting it. I will also sign the petition on that basis. Personally, and this is my opinion, I don't feel they are necessary on the PMP. I feel all of the other issues should be ironed out first before the thing is complicated further.Once some of u lucky ones get hold of a PSP or a DS then I dont think you will worry to much about games on the IRiver. I have a psp and also use my PMP just as much for the movies and music as it basically holds more and the quality is good.

I agree but i think this is more an initiative to make iRiver sit up and take notice. They can't just ignore us and do whatever they feel like. I don't even use my PMP much. Its too slow and for me, doesn't support Ogg's. I'm not that bothered about games. I just want it all resolved. If someone wants to buy my barely used 120, make me an offer. I don't think i would buy another iRiver product. I am that pissed off.

I agree, the idea is that we want them to realise we do notice their mistakes and we dont forget too easily.

why not more?

It's not just games I want to see.
There are lots of linux and old Palm type apps that can be ported to the PMP.
The PMPs hardware is good I think. Everything else is lagging.

To the point, 1 vote for games.

Erric

And please get rid of that stupid 999 playlist size limit !
Allow a OTG USB keyboard support
Add a PDF viewer, etc etc etc

Fair enough, its for a good cause and I agree that if you are promised a feature you should get it

HOWEVER....

at the end of the day, you have a bloody good player, so should you not be happy with that??

also, would you not prefer them to add different features other than games, more related to video & audio playback (eg Ogg)

plus, you say it's one more thing to show the podders, since when did Apple have a PMP competitor out??? Did I miss this???

However, good luck with your petition, hope it's successful

please sign the petition to get games reinstated for the PMP series, this has gone on too long now and I decided as no one else did anything I should, this is the first major step, if we get them to do games then we know they can move forward in other problem areas.
Tnx Astec123. Signed as 91. This petition had been signed by a lot of russian pmp owners / entusiasts

Are there any estimates of the number of iriver pmp's that have been sold? And then how many misticriver members have a pmp?

Heres a few polls that were done, but not many people used them. Not many PMP users either.......

Poll 1

Poll 2

Poll 3

Poll 4

Not sure how you'd find out how many have actually been sold..........

P.S. Petition signed

Yup I know there are a lot of petitions, thus my thread listing them all together. I think that there need not be any more, as the more we have the fewer sigs there are.

Signed.....anyone contacted iriver about a refund based on false advertising, mis-info is in the owner's manual!...... Just curious. I mainly want product support/updates, it's like they've abandoned the pmp. I am strongly against the iFAD but this crap doesn't help any(overall) argument against it?

I have emailed but no response. iRiver themselves have never actually advertised ogg support. Aztec says they advertised 8 bit game support but i have never seen anything. I have searched all around for some sort of evidence and if anybody has any PM me. All the 'extras' have come from 3rd parties but they must have gotten that information from somewhere....

Im annoyed at you my names Astec! (joke) Anyway they soon realised their mistake just as the xmas rush arrived and all retailers where slowly informed to remove the info. It was there and now its not, they have tried to cover their tracks. Dont worry Im sure 60 odd members remembering buying a player advertising games is a bit hard to shake if it was bought to court, but there are a few retailers still that advertise the games support.

It would be a good idea if we had some evidence. Do saved web pages count as (possibly) legal evidence? I dont think that 60 people declaring that they saw that in the past would be quite enough.

How many signatures do we have on the petition so far - 100ish? How can we get this petition out there more for ALL PMP users. I would have thought they would all end up here??? How about Korean and Japanese etc users? Lets get it out to them too. Do they have a forum?

Ta da!!! game mode as advertised. also McSmoovee or however you spell his name has email conversations with AMP3.co.uk over this, and Im sure the sellers will happily say that iRiver claimed it, there is too much evidence that they claimed the game support, plus some older players have the games section in the file tree!
