How portable is the PMP-120?

I have yet to actually hold the device in my hands and I have some basic questions.

All these new micro hard-drive MP3 players are tiny - basically pocket-sized. Those are truly portable.

The PMP, on the other hand is bigger, but how much? Is it still pocket-sized or will your pockets look like you are conceling a brick?

Can it be attached to your daily carrying items such as wallet, keys, and cell phone or do you have to go out of your way to pack this player along (with the help of some sort of bag or a large jackets)?

Basically, I love all the feature of the PMP, but I don't want to sacrifice too much portability - if that makes sense. If that will be the case, then I'll just go for the H10.

Any thoughts, comments, or advice is appreciated.

There is a picture that turns up sometimes on the main page, I think that is a PMP, and it looks huge!!! Bigger than I want in my pocket, but you could always have it in your backpack and run the headphones out of there.

Do you have the dimensions at hand?

pmp 120 size 139 x 84 x 31.7 mm = 370 cm^3
H320---- size 103 x 62 x 25 mm = 160 cm^6

So the pmp is 2.3 times the volume of the H320.

Mass

pmp = 280 g
320 = 203g

So the pmp is 1.4 times the mass of the 320.

Wow, it is big.

Here's an idea...
Go to a store that sells them. Look at them. Ask yourself if it is too big to be lugged about.

They're about the size of a medium sized paperback so they aren't pocket sized and they aren't overly cumbersome but that is just my subjective judgement.

Owning both I can help a bit here.

The PMP is thicker than the GBA

Height wise they are the same

width wise the GBA is wider by a few mm.

That said the PMP is more powerful and better built than my GBA.
Dont look to it for a belt pouch you will be unimpressed. it has no screen or belt clip or otherwise.

So if no where sells it get hold of a GBA original and trial it that way as it gives a good impression as to its size.

Hey!! I'm back ,

Trust me, it isnt all that big.. the fact that u "HAVE" to cary the case is a bit anoying because it makes it a bit bigger.. but the unit its self is a great size.. and has a awsome screen.. If u only want music.. get somthing else. I'm planning to buy a H later.. so i can have portable music again.. I fit the unit in my pocket fine.. but I don't like carying it there.. because i am really.. quite unco and walk into walls all the time. I love it.. and its very impressive. I used it all over kolkata, england and rome.. and it I found it easy to carry around. Don't compare a 320 to a pmp.. because the pmp screen is way out of its league. PMP's are not the sort of things that you cary in ur pocket anyway.. Its too dangerous. Thats about it.. My advice is go get a 12pack of lcd protectors for a pda and stick it on as soon as you get it.. Its worth it..I get clear bubble free images now!.

Cya next year .

thought it was too big from those pics - went to harvey norman and had a good play with it. i was blown away.

Sure, the price of the pmp120 is only $579 from mstation plus free post, but i want the 40gb and that costs like $749 from mstation

it seemed big but easily pocketable. though it asks the question as to whether it would really be desirable to carry that around all the time. kinda hard to judge until youve bought one and carried it around but i have a skeptical feeling about it

The PiMP is Easily Portable if you don't mind Carrying it in a Pack/Bag.

From a Video/Photo Perspective (Great Screen ) It's quite good as
a Digital Photo Album With USBOTG.
(It would be even better if you could set up a Slide Show with Audio)

From an Audio Perspective it Could be Better,
as It Currently has No Remote, and the Case it Comes with has No Belt Clip.
