Ouch, an $800 Nano - that's worse than Apple's prices in the UK

Yeah, Jeff's our resident Las Vegas-ian, or whatever the correct term is.

and you better stop and say hi while you're here.

I work swing shift: 6pm-2am PST with Sun/Mon off at Harrahs Hotel/Casino on the strip right across the street from Caesars and Mirage.

Hey, BBD!

I've been poking around on the 'Net looking for such free Podcasts that are actually worth watching.

Can you point me at a site(s)? Thanks!

Hundreds of free ones @ the iTunes store--I subscribe to several Indie music podcasts that post one free song a day under various genres (I subscribed to Alt Rock, Blues, Hip-Hop), Countdown w/ Keith Olberman, Real Tine w/ Bill Maher, Ken Burns' "The War" documentary, among others.

I have lots of lecture series, mostly from The Teaching Company. Their series are always good, they have a huge range and the lecturers are always first class.

They are generally long, about 45 lectures per series, with each being about 45 minutes long. But they are well worth the time and effort spent listening to them.

Woooops...wrong thread. SO hard to keep these things straight!

Off to Vegas tomorrow. Yippee! Jeff, I'll stop by at some point. Just wondering - is the Iriver store actually in Vegas? Do you just run it out of your house? Might be fun to pick up some accessories, if so!

G'night!

Hi, All! Had a FABULOUS time in Vegas! SO much fun! We got to see the Star Trek Experience (I'm not worried about outing myself as a geek here - already done!). It was amazing. We ate at Quark's Bar afterwards. I have to say, the food is so much better in the US. Probably since there's more competition!

I walked all the way down to Harrah's (where our illustrious leader Jeff works), only to discover that it might have been important to know either a) his last name, or b) the area of the hotel that he works in. I was astonished at the size of the hotels in Vegas. WOW! Well, after asking around I bit, I figured out that Jeff (correct me if I'm wrong, Jeff!) is a supervisor at the gaming tables. Then, I found out that he called in sick that night, which was the Tuesday. Or, I perhaps got the wrong person all together. I tried, anyhow!

I also almost got beat up. That was fun. I needed a BBD escort, apparently! This guy wanted a chair I was saving for my husband, so I gave him the chair. No problem, right? Well, apparently I did it with an "attitude". So, the guy went over and tried to get his other friend involved (I heard him say "mother f***ing" and other such language repeatedly). I figured it was time to leave. The guy needed some serious therapy. He's probably just mad that I stood up to him and made him feel like a total di*k.

Thanks for asking!

I'm so mad at the staff I can't even begin to tell you...

I was not sick that night. I was filling in as shift manager and walking around as usual. I went to the break room to grab a drink and one of the dealers asked me if "that girl found me" I asked him what girl of course and he said that someone was looking for me earlier. He then said that Melody had spoken with Leslie (another supervisor) so downstairs I went.

I asked Leslie if someone had asked about me and she looked at me with this weird look and said "oh, you're the Jeff she was looking for" The really sad thing is that I carry a pager and a work cell phone so can be reached at the drop of a pin.

There are 3 Jeff's that work on my shift however I'm the only one that does anything with the internet and Leslie knows this but didn't put two and two together until it was too late.

Sorry Melody for missing you, hope to have the chance again in the future and for all others visiting this fair land of sin, make sure you stop in and say hi.
