Wasn't quite sure where to put this but since these phones came with the iTunes function embedded which is Apple, it was only fitting to put it here.
Guide starts here Warnings: Please install the Motorola USB drivers for the Data/Fax Connection Mode. Do this by selecting the Clean and Reinstall Option in the Driver installer program. Now connect your ROKR/SLVR in Data/Fax Connection mode to begin. Wait for the drivers to install. They take quite a while, but they install in the same manner as a Removable USB Disk. If iTunes complains that your phone is in the incorrect connection mode DO NOT allow it to change the modes. This will cause numerous problems that are only resolved by uninstalling the Drivers and iTunes. This may void your warranty (but nobody really cares anymore because they're getting old) ROKR iTunes overview: The iTunes on the Motorola ROKR is a Java CORElet meaning that it runs in the background and is part of the Startup of the phone. Installing the Drivers: 1. Open the driver program and press clean and re-install drivers. 2. Restart computer 3. Open MotoMidMan and connect phone 4. Wait for drivers to self-install (requires confirmation of install) 5. Restart computer again (only if asked to do so) 6. Move onto the next step How To Unlock the iTunes Song Limit: 0. It is important to connect in Data/Fax otherwise MotoMidMan will screw up the iTunes drivers and probably prevent it from syncing with iTunes in the future. 1. Connect your ROKR/E398 Phone in Data/Fax Connection 2. Open up the directory marked "1. Installing Java>Motorola Midlets Manager>MotoMidMan.e xe" 3. Wait for the program to initialise for the first time. This can take anywhere between 1 and 5 minutes. 4. A list will appear on the screen. These are the MIDlets (normal java Applications) and CORElets (iTunes etc.) that are currently installed. Firstly, delete the iTunes application. Say yes if it wants a confirmation. 5. Go to Install>JAD File (Or JAR but the program find it easier to use the JAD file extension) and locate the iTunes File within the "1. Installing Java" directory. 6. Wait for it to install. Say yes to any windows that appear. This iTunes requires about 300-500kb on your phone. Make sure you have enough space. 7. Once it has installed quit the program (and say yes to power cycle phone/reset) 8. The first time, iTunes will autorun as soon as you turn it on. Explaining JAD and JAR A JAR file contains all of the program data and information that MotoMidMan requires. A JAD file contains installation instructions. MotoMidMan can install without a JAD file as it will automatically create one. The JAD instrcution are nearly always right but it's better to have the JAD file that came with it. Word of warning: Try not to press the 0 key when in iTunes as this will "Unload the progam" (summarised, you can't access it again until you restart phone). Do not try this on a RAZR V3i. It won't work. It has more protection over iTunes. The kit which contain everything you need is here: Unlocking Kit for Motorola ROKR E1 and SLVR L7

memory for Motorola Rokr E1
Wondering if you have much experience with the memory capacity of this phone. I just got one so I am just getting into it, but it appears that both Sandisk and Motorola recommend only a 1GB max storage capacity (they say this is due to the phone's software). However, I would be interested if others have used a larger card? The 4GB cards should still work unless I'm missing something.
