Parents being offended by what they may see as a questionable thing, aint nothing new.
God knows, when i first got into FRPG, my mother (devout catholic) got totally freaked out by the concept of her eldest son going of to play some game involving magic etc.
Well, mucho dragons and nastier stuff later on .. old FG's human typist (yer, he's just the puppet) aint been totally turned into a nasty piece of work for the exposure to such things..
