Its actually not the same size(although it will fit) also the pins are different(if i recall correctly). I would really suggest that you buy the host cable..there is a coupon code somewhere which gets you i think 10-15% off.
If you can solder i suggest doing the Tutorial on this page instead of the wire tutorial.
