The Day Has Come...

Well well well....what can i say?...umm...THEY HAVE ARRIVED!!!!

The headphones...or should i say, earphones have arrived and my oh my...did Yuin know what they were doing when they made these things? They just are soo good that I personally think iRiver should have these as the STOCK earphones that get packed with the MP3 players...(good bye Sennheiser earphones)

I don't have time to post a full on indepth review at the moment since high school assessments are killing me right now...but I will make it up to others out there (and Shiroc) who have been watching this thread...

Overview:

What are they? Earbuds

Who made these?
Yuin

Huh...Who??
Yuin (some chinese company)

Model heirarchy?
2nd best from the top...(Yuin PK1 is the king-daddy of the PK series, but needs an Amp and the PK3 rounds out the family at the bottom part)

Shipping Packaging? Everything comes in a silvery-wooden box which opens and closes at the top revealing all the stuff you need securely positioned by grey foam...The box includes a 6.3 mm adapter so you can hook it up to HiFi systems and the like, a lil flip out booklet all in Chinese with specs and other stuff I can't read. The earphones themself are inside a black cylindrical container which safely stores the earphones without damaging the wires/cable. Also included are the soft foam circular coverings you get with some earphones (some people use them, some don't) So all up, the silvery-wooden box holds everything including the black cylindrical container holding the earphones.

What colour?
Black for the earphones (plug is gold). 6.3 mm adapter is gold. Wooden box is painted silver.

Cord Length & Type? The spec sheet/booklet doesn't say how long the cable is for the Yuin PK2, but according to headphonic (store i purchased these from) they are 120 cm from plug to earbud. However, I did a measure myself and found the actual cord to be 115 cm to 116 cm. (So i guess the 120 cm figure is from the very end of the plug to the tip of the earbud). The cord itself is a symmetrical Y shape (i.e. both the left and right cables are same in length) Note, the cable itself is a very "grippy" sort of rubber...not the smooth and silky cabling some headphones/earphones have.

I have heard of other people who own the PK2, but the cable seems to be manufactured in both a Y and J (uneven Left and right cords) styles...however, the only style I have seen is the Y type. (So don't quote me on saying there ARE "J" versions of the PK2)

INTERESTING FEATURES? The cylindrical contained that holds the earphones is big enough to store an iPod shuffle (the square one that is)...not that you would though

The earbuds themself appear to have been shaped for comfort and ergonomics...for example, the body of the plastic housing is shaped EXACTLY how 2 fingers would pinch and object (i.e. thumb and index finger). So the shape is like slim in the middle and a bit fatter at the top & bottom allowing for a "grip" position. Seems like a made a big fuss over a small area on these earphones

There are spare earpads which are included in the silver-wooden box...however the earpads in mine were under the black cylindrical container making them very flat and hard to slip onto the earbuds...

Any questions very welcome about these earphones.

I have not talked about sound quality in this post (not because it isn't worth mentioning) because I'm very time short at the moment, again my apologies

(Will give a full review & comparison soon)

EDIT: Once the review is finished, can a moderator please change the title to: "Yuin PK2 Review" and move it to the appropriate area? (If not, it's fine where it is at the moment)
