Timestamp voice recordings?

Hi all,

I have a ifp-799 IMS running version 1.243

I use it often for voice recording both notes and meetings. While I have located and set the clock on the 799, I have found no way to get a timestamp on a voice recording. All time information on the file is from when it's transferred to the PC not when it was created.

Is there any version of the IMS or UMS that preserves the original creation time info?

If I convert to a UMS firmware does a) the limit of 96kbps apply to voice and noticeably degrade voice recording? b) even if the timestamp doesn't get transferred properly to the PC can you see the time info on files on the ifp-799?

It's just frustrating that such a simple thing is not implemented. Especially since the 799 has a clock.

Thanks for any info!
