Step - no offense taken! I don't think that it's a bad thing to be called an American, it's just not what I am! The only other country I've ever been to (outside of the US and Canada) is Mexico, and I can definitely say that the US and Canada have more in common with eachother than with Mexico! Actually, now that I think about it, I've visited Jamaica, the Grand Cayman Islands, and I think a couple of other countries. But, that was on a cruise and we were only there for a couple of hours each.
As far as the math problem goes, there was nothing wrong with how it was typed. Was it the best way? NO. I write it the same way on the board as I typed it. It's meant to REALLY test whether or not the student gets the whole order of operations thing. It's very tricky and I wouldn't put it on an examination like that. I usually have about 2 or 3 students (out of 40) get it right. But, the rest of them never forget about that tricky case (which is the point!). Incidentally, a "complex" fraction is one that has a fraction either in the numerator or denominator or both (like (1/2)/5 if it were to be written as one fraction).
But, hey, you're still a genius in my books. Even if you don't know the difference between Americans and Canadians! (Kidding!)
And, BBD, I was waiting for you to chime in! You always paint the pertiest pictures...
Back to my Sansa Clip! (isn't THAT what this thread's about?) I've noticed a relapse of the Shufflebug. It's not as bad, and only repeats three or four songs in sequence, but still annoys the cr@p out of me! Still liking the player though. Shiny, any other big epiphanies?
Have a fabulous evening! And, someone PLEASE hug Step!
