I know you're Canadian but Canada must, surely, be full of Americanisms, right?
I don't find it surprising. I do, however, find it surprising that one would use multiple types of brackets to denote the same meaning/function.
Of course, the both of us are just products of our relative educations...
A quick attempt at working it out in my head yields -191/17.
Assuming of course that the '6 / 2 ( 7 + 10 )' part means '6/34' and not '51'.
