Long story short, my beloved H120 died. See thread.
What replaces a H120?
I've been thinking of getting a Clix but honestly and truly I want a hard drive player that can hold at least 20gb of music. The glitch is that the player must play OGG because most of my music is in this format. And of course iRIver has abandoned the HD market. And I wasn't relishing the prospect of re-ripping 150ish CD (I also would have to fly 3,000 miles to get to my collection). So I've been waffling and living w/o a player for the past couple of months. Misery!
I've been away from the boards since about 2004 and have missed out some developments, like Rockbox...Lo and behold, I just discovered tonight that if I use Rockbox firmware, I can play OGG music on many HD players...including iPods! Wow. I'm ready to buy a new player and install Rockbox.
Being a neophyte again, my one and only had been the H120, what player would you recommend for a player w/Rockbox? Will the iPod do? How about Toshiba? Creative Zen? Zune?
Priorities in order:
Must be at least 20gb (looking for 30 or more)
iRiver sound quality
Easy interface...like the H120
Battery life
Accessories w/o being nickled and dimed to death (guess that would preclude the iPod...)
