None of that made sense, especially in this thread. I'd hardly call the 'pod a fad, nor imply that those of us here who happen to own one are jumping on a "bandwagon," for whatever reason. Fact is, I sadly turned in my H320 (which I loved like woman) after two years of battery problems. Even then, the only reason I did that was to cash in a 3-year extended warranty. The iPod Classic was/is the Best Buy offering that suited my needs best, not because I suddenly fell st00pid with (cr)Apple's marketing scheme. Further, the Classic is 1 of 4 DAPs I own. Were I the type to jump on bandwagons, I'd go get a Shuffle, a Touch, and a Nano to replace what I have.

Pre-Gen5, iPods were over-hyped and definitely over-priced. Now, at least with some of the new line-up, there damned good machines priced competitively.

Buuuuuuut I'm an idiot @ iLounge, so I expect to be branded the same by certain fanbois of a different color....
