As you will know from reading this thread, there are several components that may have been damaged, and it is a case of plugging the unit into the correct charger and seeing what voltage appears on the output of each component to determine whether it is still functioning correctly. If you are not confident doing this then I would advise looking for a replacement player or someone who is able to fix it for you.

The iriver store (link above) used to offer a repair service but I don't believe they do anymore. You could try contacting iRiver themselves (although they are notoriously difficult to get hold of), but I don't know of any third party repair services.

Yes, the only difference between the 120 and 140 is the hard drive and the case.

I don't think it will fit, and the H10 is regarded by many as being inferior to the H140. IIRC it still has FM recording capabilities, but it lacks the more advanced features (optical in/out etc.). This may be fine for you though. I'd suggest reading more about the H10 before parting with your money, as you may be disappointed that it doesn't have some of the features available in the H140.
