Totally wrong thread and forum but hey, it's my site...

Speaking along the lines of consumers and broken players, etc... It is unfortunate to see many unscrupulous users.

Case in point, Ive experienced approx. 10 claims for broken or malfunctioning screens on the new clix 2. Of those 10, 2 were actually defective. The others had been dropped or in some other way broken by the user and claimed as defective. If there is anything that will prevent me from continuing on with iriver players, it will be users who take advantage of false claims.

I've even seen other users in these forums telling customers who've dropped their player to claim warranty on it. Absolutely unbelievable!! and unfortunately happens every day. This is the type of thing that drives up costs and puts the little guys out of business as we simply cannot absorb those types of returns.

Do your homework, study a player and its specs., touch it and play with it if possible in a retail store, compare it to others in its class, wait for user reviews to come out and then make your decision. If you purchase it and get it home and begin to use and it doesn't meet your expectations, then don't be shocked when the retailer assesses the restocking fee on the return and do more homework the next time. Don't keep it for two months and then claim it's defective and ask for a refund.
