Ummmm ... no. Whether the T10 is using MTP or UMS firmware has absolutely nothing to do with the questioner's problem.
XP should be able to detect the T10 whether it's in MTP
or UMS. The only difference would be that some functions, such as creating or renaming folders
directly on the T10 through Windows Explorer cannot be done if it's in MTP mode. T10 should still be recognized and show up in Windows Explorer even if MTP. If it's UMS then it will act just a like a thumb drive, with all the same options available while using any external drive. But XP should be able to
detect the device regardless.
Barisbt, try plugging the T10 into a different USB port. Example: If you tried plugging it into a port located on the side of a keyboard or on the front of your computer tower, try plugging it into a port located on the back of the tower instead.
