the reason these guys are so cheap is they buy in bulk (I think). I got my hdd in a recycled box with only the hdd in a LOT of protective packaging. that's it. no extra goodies. but it's cheap and my hdd plugged right in no probs.

Google "English to Japanese BETA" got it wrong, not me. I did learn how to say "Thank you" to my Japanese Sensi at the dojo about 15 years ago, but how to spell it or write it is beyond me. I have forgotten all the kata as well.
I would not mind the box it came in, nor would I mind if it was an OEM model - the big killer for me is that I am in Australia. Freight for the hard drive from the American seller who will not answer my email messages would be about USD$60, which adds 50%. As well, there is the danger that if it comes UPS they will automatically do the customs paperwork and charge me import duty and GST and potentially add another 50% on top of the price (including the freight). If you don't pay then the item is returned (with return freight to the sender)
The soup nazi has nothing on these people - No hard drive for you!
