Have used the "rubber bumper mod" on the joystick for 3 years now and it's great--iRiver originally should have rubberized the center of the joystick, for ease of use. Others have suggested filling the joystick indentation with a drop of hot glue from a glue gun.
Especially convenient for use when driving or when the player is across a desk.
