I picked up an immaculate H10 5GB from a trading site here in New Zealand that had exactly the same issue. Since it was sold as faulty, I didn't have any room for complaint. Mine got very hot in the bottom left corner whilst switched on and playing and, not surprisingly, the battery depleted very quickly due to the heat being generated. Apart from that, the player works perfectly. I reckon that the charging circuit got screwed somehow. In the end, I managed to get another faulty H10 (with a dodgy headphone jack - luckily that's on a separate daughter-board). I swapped the good mainboard with the overheating one and I now have an immaculate, perfectly functioning H10 5GB. I think something like that might be your only option to be honest.
