[almo100000]

I bought a giant squid mono mic and when I plug it into the Iriver Ifp-890 it still detects it as stereo. Is this normal? I also read on the giant squid site that if you had a mono mic it might extend your playing time. Is this true for the 890?

I also want to hear from users on what setting they have used to get the best results for interviews.

Bit Rate?
Sampling Frequency?
Record In Volume?
and any other setting that might help. EQ?
