The Sansa was actually the player I tried right before coming upon the clix. Although the price was right and the sound quality was good, two things killed it for me: the scroll wheel and the font.

The scroll wheel is..."embossed" (geez, I can't think of the word right now...it sticks up)...and around the scroll wheel are the 4 keys - the scroll wheel actually interferes with key usage. Now, I don't have fat hands or anything and I like to think that I have fairly good thumb dexterity but the scroll wheel bothered me. It was clear they were trying to emulate the iPod's interface and was failing; much less elegant.

The menu fonts (save for the root menu) would dynamically respace themselves. For example, "Beck" would be spaced nicely while "Red Hot Chilli Peppers" would be all scrunched up to fit the window. So, some fonts would look like Arial Black while others would look like Arial.

These are nit-picky points, I know, but they were enough to make me return it.
