I was looking at either the Sansa e2xx or the Clix, and ended up getting the 4GB Clix. My screen's not loose, my battery life seems normal, it syncs fine, and it's never frozen (ok, I've only had it since Christmas). The Nano was never an option for me b/c I really wanted a built-in FM radio. I wish the Clix had a user replaceable battery like the Sansa, but I went for it anyway because of what I read in terms of sound quality, navigation system, and FM radio reception. Actually, discovering that Mistic River could service the battery made my decision a little easier.
In all honesty, if the Nano had a built-in FM radio, I probably would have gone with it. There are so many things built for iPod--accessories and software--it just seems like it would bit easier to own. Like, there is nothing out there for us like iTunes, which has built in podcasting. I also wish I could resume my podcasts from the point I last stopped at (not sure if a nano can do this either, though). On the other hand, I can enjoy Overdrive Audio Books from my library, while iPod users cannot, because it uses Microsoft's DRM system. If I were so inclined, I could get music from a wide variety of on-line music stores.
The one thing that is truly lacking from the Clix is a one-piece wall charger.
Bottom line: I think I made the right choice. Hope this helps with your decision.
