I wanted to stick with a brand name battery, and from the looks of what others have bought around here, it seems most others do too! The majority of people I have seen around MisticRiver stuck with the NewerTech battery even though the Cameron Sino came more highly recommended. Why? Well, I figure they experienced the same thing I did: there is an easy and reliable place to buy the NewerTech (link above), but I have looked, Googled, searched eBay and all else for hours looking for Cameron Sino without finding anything (keep reading though...I did find a great supplier).

In the process of looking I found a supplier called Kokopelli (in Pennsylvania). They have "high power" kits for folks to do the repairs themselves with a 2200mAh battery in there. They even have a guarantee on the battery for the life of the player! Not bad:

However, I live in China. The NewerTech link all over the MisticRiver site would be nice, but that will double the price of the battery just to add shipping to Asia! I am not really in the mood for a US$50+ battery!

So, for all the Asian & Austrailian buyers out there (actually, it is great for the Americas too), I found an eBay store that had just what I was looking for: Cameron Sino 2200...and not just one battery for a one time sale, but an established eBay store front that could help others of you wanting to buy but not ship around the world. Unfortunately, it is difficult to find, since it is not completely obvious from their store, but with a little work, I found the 2200mAh batteries. And with the "item location" in Hong Kong (where Cameron Sino is), it is a good option for the Asian buyers.

I had to go to their store (or any item) and click on their "About Me"...which is that little "me" icon next to the name of the seller (easy to find on a specific item for sale, but not so easy in the store). Then, you can see a list of items they have for sale, and the 2200mAh 1/2 gen iPod batteries are in there. Plus, it looks like all their batteries are Cameron Sino. Better link for Cameron Sino than I have seen on all the Mistic River pages...but maybe I missed something. I trust this link a little less, but this is where I found an actual link to a Cameron Sino 2200mAh 1/2 gen iPod replacement battery:
