A cheapo 2200mAh battery without reverse polarity

Ive just done the battery replacement on the h340 and think it might help to let people know that although the new 2200mAh battery was sold as an ipod replacement the cables to the molex connector did not need swapping.

The red and black cables were already in the correct pins on the new batterys plug. The new battery is working nicely so clearly the polarity is correct.

The battery is a no name and in the packaging and instruction leaflet it is described as an ipod replacement.Although it does have the same serial number that is mentioned again and again in these threads (if only I could find it again)

I hope that this might help to save anyone else from swapping the connector if they do not need to.

I cant give any more info as regards where to buy the battery as it came with a second hand H340 that I bought from ebay,(My H320 was stolen 6 months ago).

Thanks to Denny for his excellent guide http://www.misticriver.net/showthread.php?t=34257

and also to ipods99 for the video.

I did find it perfectly okay to flip up the motherboard in the way shown in the ipods99 video (just make sure the little tiny white holding pegs are unclipped from the board). Although it is quite a scary thing to do there is just enough flexibility in the top of the back casing to clear all the top connectors.

The beauty of this method is that the screen does not get dusty ,something that other people have mentioned to be a time consuming part of the whole battery change mod.

It did fit back together nicely ,tighter but snug.
Hope that this might help others in a similar situation.

Am now looking forward to checking out the new battery life.

By the way sorry if i double post this but its hard to know the best place to put stuff as there are a few similar threads running.

Good luck to anyone else doing a battery replacement.
