I would check the voltage with a voltohmmeter. Red should be positive, and black negative. But I wouldn't bet my H120 on that without verifying, in your case.

Yes, stock battery should last 16 hours in your test. The 2200 will last close to 30!

Short charge time (when the battery is fully discharged) is a bad sign. The charger circuit supplies 500ma. If you assume 80% storage efficency, that's 400mah charge. 1300mah/400mah = just over three hours for a full charge on the stock battery. 2200/400 = 5.5 hours to charge the 2200mah battery.
