You may as well do it yourself, its easy enough. I dont know of anywhere you could have it replaced other than sending it back to iriver.

http://www.batteryuniversity.com/ (i dont know if its on there or not). At present the lithium polymer batteries sold for mp3 players and the like arn't actually true lithium polymer anyway. They are hybrid batteries.
The difference is negligible realy.
