Hi All, I made this a while ago and put it on the Rockbox wiki, but I thought I'd promote it here. The zip file linked here includes everything, including the font. It unsashamedly reflects my feelings about what's important and what's not, but I'm sure that's true for most WPS designs :

  • Most readable font that still allows plenty of track + next info to fit in. This Helvetica font is very readable while fitting a lot into the width.
  • Clean, minimal clutter display that still tells you what's up next
  • Minimal technical detail - I don't care to check the bitrate, file format, volume dB etc. (though a brief display of the volume dB on volume change would be nice, like the standard toolbar).
  • I don't like alternating text - I want it all there at one glance.
  • Remaining track time is the only time info I really care about

There are some icons you can't see here around the upper left: lock, repeat, shuffle etc. I went a bit crazy with grayscales, trying to give things a bit of a 3D look on the battery, prog bar etc.. I've also heavily documented the WPS file, to help if anyone would like to tweak it.

Perhaps it would be better use of space to put the icons on the bottom, where there's slightly more than one line available. It kind of got to a "good enough" state, and I haven't touched it for ages. If multiple fonts, in grayscale, are implemented, I might be tempted .

Sorry, no remote WPS - I don't use it.
