Looks like the 60GB drive has got a 2MB buffer, rather than the 512KB on the 40GB. I'm guessing, but should that mean fewer spin-up/reads and (as both have the same average power consumption) therefore longer battery life ??
Several places now stock new 40GB drives (4004GAH) for around £100... we'll just have to wait to see how long it is before the 60GB drive hits the shops. Probably depend on just how successful Toshiba expect the Gigabeat player to be...
